Clàudia Aymerich was graduated in Medicine from the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona, later specializing in Psychiatry at Basurto University Hospital, in Bilbao, where she now works as a child and adolescent psychiatrist and a researcher. She is also a PhD Candidate at the Basque Country University and a member of GCV22/1/SAM in CIBERSAM. She holds a Master’s degree in Drug Dependencies from the University of Barcelona.
After finishing her specialization, she received the Post-MIR Scholarship from the Biobizkaia Health Research Institute, allowing her to combine clinical work with several research projects focused on the treatment and prevention of psychotic disorders.
She has been author and co-author of several original articles and meta-analyses in first decile and quartile journals, and has participated as a speaker in multiple national and international congresses. In 2022, she received the Emerging Investigator Award from the Spanish Society of Psychiatry and Mental Health.
From a clinical standpoint, she has worked as a psychiatrist in the Early Psychosis Unit and in the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit at the Basurto University Hospital. Clàudia has recently received an Advanced Training Grant from the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation, which will allow her to join King’s College London and the Maudsley Hospital as a psychiatrist and researcher starting next September.
