Juan Pablo Chart Pascual

He obtained his medical degree from the University of Navarra through the international programme. He subsequently completed his residency in Psychiatry at Hospital Universitario Araba. During his training, he actively participated in research and teaching activities at the hospital and at the Bioaraba Health Research Institute, and also collaborated as a member of Group 10 of CIBERSAM. During this period, he was awarded the prize for the best article published by a young researcher in the Spanish Journal of Psychiatry and Mental Health for the work titled “Retinal Thickness: A Window into Cognitive Impairment in Bipolar Disorder”.

He is the lead author and co-author of multiple articles published in first-quartile journals and has presented his research at national and international conferences, including the APA Annual Meeting held in New York in 2024.

He is currently a researcher at King’s College London, thanks to an advanced training fellowship granted by the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation, and combines this activity with his clinical work at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

His doctoral thesis focuses on the identification of new biomarkers for the prevention and early detection of severe mental disorders, which he combines with a research line centred on studying the use and content of mental health information on social media using artificial intelligence tools.

His main clinical interests include adolescent and young adult psychiatry, psychosis prevention, affective and personality disorders, and anxiety disorders.

Alongside his clinical and research activity, he has also received psychotherapeutic training in family systemic therapy and EMDR.
