Graduate in Medicine and Surgery from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He is a specialist in Psychiatry at Hospital Clínic Universitari de València. From 2007 he was an assistant psychiatrist at the Granollers Adult Mental Health Center and the Acute Psychiatric Unit at the Granollers Hospital.
Since 2009, he has been an associate psychiatrist at the Institut de Neuropsiquiatria i Addiccions (INAD, Barcelona), carrying out a research and care activity related to pediatric bipolar disorder.
His clinical activity is in the Sant Martí-La Mina Children’s and Youth Mental Health Center (CMHC), also conducting a project to review and update the evaluation and treatment protocols used by INAD CMHC’s. His research line focuses on polysomnographic variables in bipolar children. He holds a doctoral thesis at the Department of Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology (Sleep Laboratory) at Hospital del Mar. His study of sleep in bipolar children has resulted in the publication of two chapters of textbooks, a publication in a scientific journal and multiple presentations in poster format or oral communication in national, international and worldwide congresses. In 2015 he received the prize for the best poster presented at the 11th Meeting of the Societat Catalana de Psiquiatria Infanto-Juvenil (Acadèmia de Ciències Mèdiques de Catalunya i Balears). During his stay at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic under the supervision of Dr. Boris Birmaher he expects to receive extensive training in the field of pediatric bipolar disorder and to initiate new research projects.
