Medical Doctor (M.D.) by the Universidad de Navarra (2008-2014) and Specialist in Psychiatry by the Clinica Universidad de Navarra (2015-2019), with a training itinerary enriched on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
He also studied the Masters’ Degree in Integration and resolution of clinical problems in Medicine at Universidad de Alcalá (2014-2015) and has received continued medical training in several local, regional, national and international courses and conferences (he has been speaker in some of these).
He has shown a preferent interest in training and research in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, with international publications of book chapters in the area. In 2016 he started his Ph.D. work developing from zero the CUNMET project of the Clinica Universidad de Navarra, a neuroimaging study which tries to elucidate the brain effects of the medications in children and adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging. Between September-November 2018 he did an internship at the Child Mind Institute in New York (USA) to work on this project, with a grant from the Fundacion Española de Psiquiatria y Salud Mental (FEPSM).
Victor has also been involved in the participation and leadership in associative and research international projects. Between 2015-2019 he co-founded and co-directed the Spanish Society of Psychiatric Trainees (SERP); between 2017-2019 he led a working group from the European Federation of Psychiatric Trainees (EFPT); and since 2016 he leads the EFPT research study on the phenomenon of violence against psychiatric trainees worldwide. Since 2018 he works within an international team in the research of the Japanese phenomenon of hikikomori (social withdrawal) and other mental disorders in the social media, publishing several papers (he is the first author of one of them). For these efforts he has received The European Psychiatric Association (EPA) Scholarship Award 2018 and The Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology (JSPN) Fellowship Award 2018.
