Raquel Cecilia Costa holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona at Hospital Vall d’Hebrón in Barcelona and she completed her residency in psychiatry at Hospital de Vic (Barcelona). Dr. Cecilia currently works as an assistant psychiatrist, in the Eating Disorders Unit of the Psychiatry Department, and also collaborates with the Endocrinolgy Department at the Pediatric Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona.

Dr. Cecilia received a grant from Fundación Alicia Koplowitz for her fellowship at the Joslin Diabetes Center – Harvard Medical School in Boston from September 2016 to February 2017. She worked on a research project related to disordered eating behaviors in adolescents with type 1 diabetes. In June 2017, she received another grant form Fundación Alicia Koplowitz to complete the project, and to develop her research focusing on the purpose of designing and implementing preventive measures of eating disorders in adolescents with type 1 diabetes.
