The Alicia Koplowitz Foundation announced its first annual research grant awards for projects in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry at the 41st meeting of the Spanish Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Almería on June 4th, 2005.
Two research grants of €100,000 were awarded to the following research teams:
– Team led by Dr. Mara Parellada Redondo, from the Gregorio Marañón Hospital in Madrid, including Dr. Andrés Martínez Gómez, Dr. Olalla Robles Aranda, Dr. Ana Ruiz Sancho, and psychologist María Mayoral, to carry out the research “Estudio longitudinal del estado oxidativo en dos trastornos del neurodesarrollo temprano: esquizofrenia y síndrome de Asperger”.
– Team led by Dr. César Soutullo Esperón, from the University Clinic of the University of Navarra, including Dr. Felipe Ortuño Sánchez-Pedreño, Dr. Azucena Díez Suárez and Dr. Ana Patiño García, to carry out the research “Estudio mediante Gene Chip Mapping de análisis genómico en niños con enfermedad bipolar versus TDAH”.
