Gisela Sugranyes is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Research Coordinator at the Institute of Neuroscience, Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. She is also a Senior Group Leader and Coordinator of the Clinical and Experimental Neuroscience Area at IDIBAPS, member of CIBERSAM, and part of several international networks and consortia. Her research focuses on understanding the biological bases of psychosis, studying children and adolescents at risk or experiencing a first early-onset psychotic episode, using brain imaging combined with other biological, clinical, and cognitive measures. She has secured national and international funding for her group as principal investigator in 16 competitive grants, has authored over 100 publications with more than 2,200 citations, and received the 2024 Responsible Research and Innovation Award from the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, among many other recognitions. She is an accredited professor by AGAUR, has supervised two completed doctoral theses and six ongoing, as well as master’s, undergraduate, and specialized medical training projects.
