Daniel Bergé is specialist in psychiatry at Hospital del Mar (2002-2006), where he currently works as consultant psychiatrist in the hospitalization unit and in the first-episode psychosis program that he coordinates. He has developed his research in the Neuroimaging Research Group at IMIM and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in the study of first episodes of psychosis and neuroimage. In 2010 he completed his PhD on functional and structural brain abnormalities related to emotion processing in first-episode psychosis. Afterwards he has continued with the study of schizophrenia and early stages of psychosis. In the area of teaching he is associate professor at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, he has been a teacher of several master’s and postgraduate courses and he has directed two PhD projects.
He has applied for a short-term fellowship at University of California at Davis, Sacramento, where he will further his skills and experience in neuroimaging research and clinical practice in early psychosis
