Cecilia Sanjuan Ortíz

She obtained her medical degree from the University of Valencia in 2020, completing her fourth year at the University of Münster (Germany) through the Erasmus Programme. She is currently completing her psychiatry training at La Fe Hospital in Valencia, within the official specialization track in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which she will finish in July 2025. During her training, she completed the Interuniversity Master’s Degree in Mental Health Research, where her thesis focused on the relationship between autistic traits and the Clinical High Risk for Psychosis state in adolescents.

She has completed clinical placements at national reference centers such as Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and Hospital Niño Jesús in Madrid, as well as abroad at The Walker Unit, part of the Concord Centre for Mental Health (Sydney, Australia), an intensive care unit for adolescents with severe psychiatric conditions. She has also participated in training offered by the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Systemic Family Therapy at the Sant Pau School of Family Therapy in Barcelona.

She has presented scientific work at national and international conferences (AEPNYA, ESCAP, EPA), with particular interest in early psychosis detection, neurodevelopmental disorders and early intervention. In the coming months, she will undertake a clinical and research placement at King’s College London (South London and Maudsley NHS Trust), under the supervision of Dr. Gonzalo Salazar de Pablo, focusing on Clinical High Risk for Psychosis. Her professional goal is to contribute to the development of early intervention and prevention programs in child and adolescent mental health through both clinical and academic work.
