History of the Foundation<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Created and chaired by Alicia Koplowitz, the Foundation is a non-profit organization born as an expression of its commitment to promote training and research in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as well as social assistance to minors, as stated in the statutes of the institution.<\/p>\n

Currently, the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation carries out the activities of two initially independent foundations. One of them, the Life and Hope Foundation which has been operating since 1994 and the other, operating since 2003, are now integrated into the same entity: the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation. After the merger of both institutions, which took place in the first quarter of 2005, and in continuity with the activity of social interest which was originally developed by each of them, the current foundation divides its activities in two lines of work:<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Focused on its Program of Support for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, it bases its activities on contributing to the advancement of research and improving the training of professionals in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychology or Neuroscience and in Neuropediatric in Spain. Within this program, the Foundation awards Advanced Training Grants, Short Term Specialization and Research Grants and Grants for Research Projects. Every year it holds its Scientific Conferences with national and international speakers of recognized prestige. On September 10, 2014, the Association of Scientists in Child and Adolescent Mental Health “Fundaci\u00f3n Alicia Koplowitz” was formally established in Madrid, with the goal of being the default channel for maintaining the relationship between its members, as well as with the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation and the institutions with which it collaborates.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      Dedicated to the care of children and adolescents from families with serious conflicts, as well as other social groups with specific needs, such as those affected by Multiple Sclerosis, for whom the Foundation has promoted, built and donated the Multiple Sclerosis Center of the Community of Madrid “Alicia Koplowitz” which is currently managed and financed by the Ministry of Social Policies and Family of the Community of Madrid. The Foundation’s commitment to the most disadvantaged of society is clearly defined: connect with the new needs of groups in difficulty.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
