Ms. Alicia Koplowitz awarded 1st Prize from Fundación Privada Madrid contra la Esclerosis Múltiple.- Madrid, 25 September 2014.- Alicia Koplowitz receives the 1st Prize from Fundación Esclerosis Múltiple in acknowledgement of her work and active involvement in improving the quality of life of people with multiple sclerosis by opening the Alicia Koplowitz Multiple Sclerosis Centre in Madrid. The event was attended by companies from various fields, with the presence of Jesús Fermosel, the Minister for Social Affairs of the Region of Madrid, amongst others.

Awards ceremony 14th Edition of CIUDADANOS Awards. - Alicia Koplowitz Foundation wins award in Health and Social Welfare Category.- On 4 July 2014, award winners from earlier editions, representatives from Spanish society and guests attended the awards ceremony at Palacio de Linares in Madrid of the 14th Edition of the Ciudadanos Awards 2014. In the category of Health and Social Welfare, María Sáinz, Chairperson of Fundadeps, was responsible for presenting the award to the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation in celebration of its 20th anniversary and in recognition of its commitment to and support of training and research in child and adolescent psychiatric disorders.

9th Edition of the Award for Young Investigators in Clinical Psychology to Sonia Álvarez Fernández At the 14th Edition of the Conferences of the National Association of Clinical Psychologists and Residents - ANPIR, held on 5-7 June 2014 in Seville, the 9th Edition of the Award for Young Investigators in Clinical Psychology for an oral presentation was given to Sonia Álvarez-Fernández, thanks to her work at the NYU Child Study Center during the short-term visiting fellowship that the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation granted in 2013.
ALICIA KOPLOWITZ FOUNDATION WINS PUBLIC HEALTHCARE FIGURE AWARD
Madrid, 4 June 2014.- The 13th Edition of the Fundamed & wecare-u Awards recognised for yet another year the effort that the health industry is making in the current situation of crisis at a ceremony attended by numerous representatives of the ministry of health and autonomous communities, as well as the various political parties, medical professionals, pharmacists, nurses, scientific associations, patient associations and the drug industry. The Alicia Koplowitz Foundation won the Public Healthcare Figure Award.

Wednesday, April 2, 2014.- During the Autism Awareness World Journey, the Madrid Autism Association awarded Alicia Koplowitz Foundation with the Research Recognition due to the work carried out on this field by the Foundation.
European Psychiatry Association Research Prize 2014
Maria de Gracia Dominguez M.D. was awarded the 2014 European Psychiatry Association Research Prize for the publication of the article “Duration of Untreated Psychosis in Adolescents: Ethnic differences and clinical profiles in Schizophrenia Research”. The Award Ceremony took place during the official Opening Ceremony of the 22nd European Congress of Psychiatry in Munich, Germany, on 1-4 March, 2014. Dr. Dominguez had and advanced training grant for child and adolescent psychiatry from Fundación Alicia Koplowitz (2010-2012) at Imperial College, St. Mary’s Hospital, London.
Madrid Neurology Association Award to Alicia Koplowitz Foundation
Madrid, 11 December 2014. The Alicia Koplowitz Foundation has been awarded the "Social Prize 2014" by the Madrid Neurology Association (AMN). With this award the association recognises the Foundation's endeavours to study and treat neurological disorders in the form of the Centro de Esclerosis Múltiple de la Comunidad de Madrid Alicia Koplowitz (Alicia Koplowitz Multiple Sclerosis Centre of the Region of Madrid). The AMN also considers the activities in training and research of psychiatric disorders in childhood and adolescence sponsored by the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation through its programme of fellowships and bursaries, as well as initiatives undertaken in the area of social action. The Alicia Koplowitz Multiple Sclerosis Centre of the Region of Madrid is the first centre in Spain specialising in the treatment of this disorder and has become an international benchmark. Designed, built and donated by the Alicia Koplowitz Foundation to meet the needs of patients, it is currently managed by the Department for Family and Social Affairs of the Region of Madrid.
